Correctional facilities require strict control over vehicle movements through the perimeter. Every vehicle entrance creates a temporary opening in the physical security boundary and must therefore combine authorization, controlled passage and reliable physical closure.
Bavak bi-folding security gates are designed for controlled vehicle access and can help reduce the time an entrance remains open compared with slower conventional gate configurations.
Depending on the operational and security requirements of the facility, a Speedgate can be integrated with access control, license plate recognition, vehicle detection, video surveillance and other security systems. This allows vehicle identification, authorization, gate operation and monitoring to form part of one coordinated entrance process.
Different Bavak Speedgate configurations are available for different entrance requirements. Where increased forced-entry resistance is required, the B-Protect is available in RC-classified configurations and can also be supplied with optional ballistic protection, depending on the selected configuration.
A Speedgate should be considered as one element within the wider perimeter security concept. Where protection against vehicle impact is required, appropriately tested bollards, road blockers or other vehicle-security barriers should be assessed separately.
