B-Protect High-Security Bi-Folding Gate

High-Security Vehicle Access with Enhanced Physical Protection

The B-Protect is a high-security bi-folding gate designed for controlled vehicle access at locations where the vehicle entrance forms a critical part of the physical security perimeter.

Depending on the selected configuration, the B-Protect can be supplied with resistance classifications according to EN 1627 and with additional ballistic protection. The required configuration should be selected according to the site's threat assessment, required resistance level, passage dimensions and operational requirements.

The bi-folding design combines enhanced physical protection with controlled gate operation, allowing authorized vehicle movements while maintaining the required level of physical security.

Ideal Applications

The B-Protect high-security bi-folding gate is particularly suitable for environments where controlled vehicle access forms part of a high-security perimeter and increased resistance against forced entry may be required.

Typical applications include:

  • Government and federal facilities
  • Military and defense locations
  • Critical infrastructure sites
  • Energy and utility facilities
  • Data centers and other high-security campuses
  • Secure industrial facilities

For locations with higher protection requirements, the B-Protect can be configured with increased forced-entry resistance and optional ballistic protection, while maintaining fast and controlled vehicle access.

Forced-Entry Resistance

B-Protect configurations are available with RC2, RC3 and RC4 resistance classifications according to EN 1627. These classifications define the level of resistance provided against specified forced-entry methods.

The classification applies to the specific tested or certified configuration. Dimensions, construction and other security options should therefore be selected according to the required resistance level and the site-specific security requirements.

Ballistic Protection

Where ballistic resistance is required, the B-Protect can be supplied with ballistic protection up to FB6, depending on the selected configuration.

Forced-entry resistance and ballistic protection address different threats and should not be treated as interchangeable security measures. The required combination should therefore be determined according to the threat assessment and security requirements of the location.

Security Integration

The B-Protect can operate as part of an integrated high-security vehicle entrance. Depending on the site configuration, it can be integrated with:

  • Access control systems
  • License plate recognition (LPR)
  • Security management platforms
  • Safety sensors and vehicle detection systems
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Vehicle inspection systems

This allows vehicle identification, authorization, physical access and monitoring to be coordinated within the overall entrance security process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the B-Protect high-security gate designed for?

The B-Protect is designed for high-security vehicle entrances where controlled access must be combined with increased physical protection. Depending on the configuration, it can provide RC-classified forced-entry resistance and optional ballistic protection.

What forced-entry resistance classifications are available for the B-Protect?

B-Protect configurations are available with RC2, RC3 and RC4 resistance classifications according to EN 1627. The classification applies to the specific tested or certified configuration, so the required resistance level should be selected according to the security requirements of the project.

Can the B-Protect be configured with ballistic protection?

Yes. Depending on the selected configuration, the B-Protect can be supplied with ballistic protection up to FB6. Ballistic protection and forced-entry resistance address different threats and should therefore be specified according to the security requirements of the location.

Where is the B-Protect typically used?

The B-Protect is particularly suitable for government and defense facilities, critical infrastructure, energy and utility sites, data centers and other locations with elevated vehicle-access security requirements.

Can the B-Protect integrate with access control and other security systems?

Yes. The B-Protect can be integrated with access control systems, license plate recognition (LPR), video surveillance, vehicle detection, safety systems and security management platforms as part of an integrated vehicle entrance.

Is the B-Protect crash-rated?

No. The B-Protect is not a crash-rated vehicle barrier. Its RC classifications relate to forced-entry resistance, not vehicle-impact protection. Where hostile vehicle mitigation is required, the entrance can be combined with appropriately tested bollards, road blockers or other vehicle-security barriers.

Is the B-Protect UL 325 certified?

Yes. The B-Protect is UL 325 certified for the safe operation of automated gate systems. UL 325 relates to operational safety and should not be interpreted as a forced-entry or vehicle-impact rating.
